If you're interested in starting just one site, you won't need anything more than the basic plan. There's no need to spend money on perks you won't have any need to take advantage of.
With the basic plan you'll get:

- 1 website
- A sufficient amount of storage and bandwidth - for a starter site, what BlueHost provides is more than enough.
BlueHost servers are located in their Utah datacenter, and they pride themselves on custom built servers. This is a plus because, by custom building their servers, any issues that my arise will require less troubleshooting and resolution time than a typical competing host.
The one downside with BlueHost is their customer support via chat. I've always had better luck just hopping on the phone and waiting until a technician picks up (though I admittedly haven't had too many issues to require their services). Their chat support isn't well supported and the wait time is surprisingly long. Otherwise, can't complain. Typically, with hosting, you get what you pay for and with BlueHost, my top priority has always been site performance, not how quickly chat support responds. As a BlueHost customer, you'll experience great uptime stats (the amount of time your website functions as it should) and you'll rarely experience any down time (the amount of time your site goes offline unexpectedly).
